Charlie Reynolds first started fabricating and welding in 1981. Charlie and his brother owned and operated a steel and aluminum fabrication shop until 1988. In April 1988 Charlie went to work for the next 20 years building aluminum boats for Grayling Boats, and later, Peregrine Marine. As the shop foreman he had a key role in the design, fabrication, welding, and finish work of every vessel. In 2008 Charlie started his own business, building high end custom aluminum boats. Because of the similarities in designing, wiring, plumbing, and fitting of all the amenities of a home inside the cabin of a boat or an RV, Charlie decided it was a good fit to start Alaska Camper Van Conversions, taking bare vans and converting them into high end campers.
